Sibiu Jazz Festival
The Sibiu Jazz Festival is probably the most important event of its kind in Romania. Prominent Romanian jazz artists have launched their careers here, in the course of what came to be a thirty-six year old history. The Sibiu Jazz Festival is nowadays the only Romanian festival member of the prestigious Europe Jazz Network.
The stated aim of the Sibiu Jazz Festival is to contribute to the revival of the Romanian jazz movement, a revival in the spirit of the Sibiu jazz tradition. The Festival strives to accomplish its goal by joining international currents in jazz music, and by promoting Romanian artists abroad.
